RAMping Up 2025!

 

What is RAMping Up?

The transition to middle can be challenging and can create some anxiety for our students and their families. RAMping Up is an optional, supplemental summer orientation program brought to you by PTSO along with Robinson Middle School staff to help make the transition from elementary school to middle school a smooth one. This program will help students become familiar with middle school routines and expectations. In addition, this time allows students from different elementary schools to meet each other as they begin their middle school journey. Students will have fun as they learn important strategies to start the school year strong! Don’t let your student miss out!

 

Who may attend RAMping Up?

All rising 7th grade students who will be attending Robinson in fall 2025. 7th grade students new to FCPS or the Robinson pyramid (and new 8th grade students) should contact Student Services for more information about alternate programs.

 

What will the students do at RAMping Up?

*Make new friends

*Learn to read a middle school schedule

*Find their way around the school building

*Engage in group activities

*Participate in a Q&A Session with current Robinson Rams

*Meet some of the Robinson Secondary teachers, counselors, and administrators

 

When are the sessions?

You will register for ONE of these available sessions:

Monday, July 28: 8:30am - 12:30pm

Tuesday, July 29: 8:30am - 12:30pm

Wednesday, July 30: 8:30am - 12:30pm

 

How much does it cost?

There is a registration fee of $30. Students will also receive a RAMping Up t-shirt and a small gift from the PTSO. Scholarships are available for financial need. To request scholarship information & registration, please email rampingup@robinsonptso.org 

 

Is transportation provided?

No. Parents must provide their own transportation. 

 

How do I register my student for RAMping Up?
Click here to fill out the registration form and pay for the program. The RAMping Up volunteer reconciles registrations once a week and will then send out confirmation emails. 

Please note: if you will be requesting a financial scholarship, you must email rampingup@robinsonptso.org to get the correct registration link. 

Students who are not currently enrolled at a school feeding into Robinson must first make an appointment with the Robinson registrar - Melanie Knowlton, 703-426-2222, MAKnowlton@fcps.edu BEFORE registering for RAMping Up.
 

What if those dates don’t work for us?

Robinson Middle School provides other opportunities for your student to come to the school before starting in the fall. Ram Rally held just before the start of school is an open house/orientation everyone can attend. Keep an eye on the Schoology group for the Robinson rising 7th grade class, and for e-notify emails with more information.

 

What if I registered and my student is no longer able to attend?

Cancellations received after June 30, 2025 will not be refunded. If your summer plans have changed and you need to cancel your registration prior to June 30, 2025 please email rampingup@robinsonptso.org
